NCAA: Baloria, Omorogbe lead Perpetual Help over JRU

MANILA, Philippines — Rookie Juneric Baloria and Nigerian import Nosa Omorogbe combined for 45 points as Perpetual Help beat Jose Rizal University, 78-70, Monday night in the NCAA Season 89 men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Baloria led the way with 25 points while Omorogbe added 20 for the Altas, who joined the Letran Knights atop the standings with a 2-0 record.

“Nakakadalawa na pero kulang pa,” said Perpetual coach Aric del Rosario. “Ang maganda dito kahit mga bago hindi basta nagpapatalo.”

Harold Arboleda added a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

Michael Mabulac led the Heavy Bombers, who fell to 1-1 after holding off the Mapua Cardinals in their first game, with 22 points and seven rebounds.
