FOUR months after its opening, Metro Turf in Malvar, Batangas, has emerged as one of the most popular racetracks in the country.
The racetrack has already hosted several major stakes races, including the Mandaluyong City Day Racing Festival and the first leg of the 2013 Triple Crown Series won by Divine Eagle.
Metro Turf is also hosting the P2-million Amb. Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco Jr. Cup in November.
“We are very happy with the attendance at the racetrack of both racing aficionados from Manila and even the simple folks from the Calabarzon area,” said Metro Turf senior vice president Rudy Prado.
“We are also very thankful for the support that we are also getting from the major players of the industry.”
The big races being held at Metro Turf have also allowed the racetrack to contribute heavily to government coffers with P100 million in taxes and contributions to the fund of the Games and Amusements Board and the Philippine Racing Commission. Cedelf P. Tupas
