LONDON — Novak Djokovic remains firmly installed as world number one despite losing the Wimbledon final to Andy Murray on Sunday.

The Serb built up a big lead in the rankings after winning the Australian Open at the start of the year, and Murray’s points haul from his Wimbledon win were limited by the fact that he also reached the final last year.

David Ferrer moved up to a career-best third ahead of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, who both made early exits at Wimbledon. For the Swiss star it is his lowest ranking for over a decade.
