MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas gunner Jeric Teng injured his right shoulder in the first half of their 67-71 setback to National University on Wednesday in the UAAP season 76 men’s basketball tournament.

With a little over a minute left before halftime and the Bulldogs leading 37-31, Teng landed awkwardly on the floor after a push on the shoulder by NU’s Jeff Javillionar.

When asked whether it was the push or the fall that hurt him, Teng answered: “Yung tulak.”

Teng had seven points, three rebounds and three assists in 17 minutes, and his presence was sorely missed by the Tigers in the second half.

According to the initial assessment, it doesn’t seem like a dislocated shoulder but Teng said he will need an X-ray to confirm the extent of the injury.

Teng couldn’t move his shoulder during the intermission and did not come back in the game, where UST failed to mount a run in the fourth.
