MANILA, Philippines—Filipino bet Drian Francisco yielded to American Chris Avalos in their super bantamweight bout on Top Rank’s ESPN Friday Night Fights at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas Saturday morning (Manila time).
Francisco (23-2-1, 18 KOs) lost via unanimous decision 94-96, 93-97, 93-97 to a taller and younger Avalos (22-2, 16 Kos) in a ‘brutal’ 10-round war, as per Top Rank boxing’s official twitter account.
The 30-year-old Francisco was a former WBA interim super flyweight champion.
