JOSEPHINE Medina leads the nine differently abled national athletes gaining support when the “Run for Pinoy Glory–A Gift to Our Filipino Paralympians” kicks off on July 30 at SM Aura Premier in Taguig.
Medina represented the country in the London 2012 Paralympic Games along with athletics’ Andy Avellana, Marites Urce, Isidro Vildosola and Roger Tapia, swimming’s Beariza Roble and powerlifting’s Archelle Guio, Adeline Ancheta and Agustin Kitan.
All nine will receive the proceeds of last year’s “Run for Pinoy Glory” organized by Shadowfax Events and British Embassy Manila during the two-hour event, which will also serve as the launch for the race’s next edition on Sept. 8.
“This is part of the legacy of the Olympics,” said Colin Glen of the Second Secretary Bilateral and Strategic Communications of British Embassy in Manila during yesterday’s PSA Forum. “This year is a continuation of our promotion of Paralympians from the London Olympics.”
Aside from the 3K, 5K and 10K distances, the race will feature a special 3K category for the wheelchair racers.
Race registration starts on Aug. 1 at selected Chris Sports outlets and ROX in Bonifacio Global City.
