Orcollo tops US Open 1-pocket tilt

DENNIS Orcollo reasserted his mastery of American Corey Deuel in the finals to rule the US Open One Pocket Championship in Las Vegas.

The Filipino former world No. 1 got the better of Deuel, the Derby City One Pocket champion, 5-3, Sunday night (Monday in Manila) to pick up the $7,500 (about P322,000) winner’s purse.

It was the third triumph in the United States this year for Orcollo, the 2011 world 8-ball champion, following his victories in the Derby City Classic 10-Ball Championship in February and the US Bar Table 10-Ball event in March.
