EDEN Sonsona headlines a big boxing card that also features a title bout between two undefeated lady boxers this Saturday at San Dionisio covered courts in Parañaque City.
Sonsona, a cousin of former world champion Marvin Sonsona, takes on Daniel Ferreras in a 10-round super bantamweight match in the promotion presented by sportsman-businessman Anson Tiu Co in cooperation with In This Corner.
“Daniel Ferreras is also highly rated,” Co said in the PSA Forum yesterday at Shakey’s Malate. “They’re both highly rated boxers and for the first time they agreed to meet. So one of them will surely have a chance for a world title after this.”
The 24-year-old Sonsona, who won his last six fights, totes a 32-6 (10 KOs) record.
Richard Pumicpic, the 23-year-old Zamboanga native who owns a 12-5 (4 KOs) record, battles Richard Betos in another 10-round super bantamweight bout.
Lady boxers Jessabelle Pagaduan and Carlean Rivas also clash in the minimum weight title bout.
“They’re both undefeated and finally they’re going to meet,” said Co.
Pumicpic was a late replacement for Bernabe Concepcion, who had to back out due to a recent shoulder injury.
