MANILA, Philippines — Finalist Cignal was well represented Sunday night as the individual awards were handed out in the Philippine Super Liga women’s volleyball invitational.

Former University of Santo Tomas star Venus Bernal of the HD Spikers bagged the Most Valuable Player award while teammate Honey Royse Tubino was recognized as the league’s Best Spiker.

Cignal’s other key cogs in libero Jen Reyes and setter Arianne Agarin were named as the Best Receiver and Best Setter, respectively.

PLDT MyDSL’s Pau Soriano, which scored a game-high 24 points in a five-set win over PCSO Bingo Milyonaryo in the classification phase for the last two places, was cited as the league’s Best Scorer.

And while the Speed Boosters boasted the league’s best offensive player, league-leader Philippine Army had the best stopper in Tina Salak, who earned the Best Blocker award.

Cagayan Valley’s pair of lanky spiker Sandra delos Santos and Angelique Dionela, diminutive but big-hearted, of Perpetual Help on the other hand, were recognized as Best Server and Best Libero.
