Team Villar clinic makes waves

Team Villar continues to inspire young kids by holding free basketball clinics in Visayas and Mindanao.

Former PBA player and two-time Philippine Basketball League MVP Chester Tolomia,  a native of Zamboanga City,  handles the basketball clinics together with his teammates in Team Villar,  where he is also the playing-coach.

The team is slowly making waves in the basketball scene,  as it won tough tournaments  in the Visayas  and Mindanao.  In fact, Team Villar-Zamboanga was the  first team to win the NBA 3-on-3 tournament when it was first held in Manila in 2011.

Team Villar has also helped launch the basketball careers  of Araouf  Jukipli, who is now playing for Adamson University,  and Jon Rebollos of the San Sebastian College Stags.

Team Villar  also boasts of a potential basketball superstar in Darwin Cordero, a high-flying,  explosive scorer who played for Manny Pacquiao’s team in General Santos City.

The team is backed by Sen. Cynthia Villar.
