MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines jumped three places higher to 141 — an all-time best — in the latest Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) ranking released on Thursday.
From the 144th spot last month, the Philippine men’s football team known as the Azkals, got a big lift from its 1-0 win over Hong Kong early in June, according to the FIFA website.
The Filipinos’ previous best in the FIFA rankings was at 143, which they achieved November 2012 and April this year.
