FIBA Asia: Jordan clobbers Kazakhstan to take 7th place

MANILA, Philippines — Jordan clobbered Kazakhstan 88-59 on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena to conclude its 27th Fiba Asia men’s championship campaign at seventh place.

Mahmoud Abdeen churned out a near perfect performance to lift the Jordanians as he notched 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting, along with two rebounds, a couple of assists, a steal and no turnover.

Hani Alfaraj chipped in 15 markers, Mohammed Hussein added 10, while veteran Wesam Al-sous, on what could be his final game for the national team, did not suit up.

The Jordanians just rolled over the hapless Kazakhs, leading by as many as 35 points.

Rustam Yargaliyev, meanwhile, contributed a team-best 17 points for Kazakhstan, which sunk to eighth place in the tournament.
