‘Perlas’ faces stern test in Discovery hoops

Perlas Pilipinas, the women’s national basketball team, battles two tough foreign teams in the 2nd Discovery Women’s Basketball Invitational from Aug. 22 to 25 in Naga City. Australia Gold Coast and the Singapore women’s national team are expected to give Perlas a stern test as they prepare for the Fiba Asia Women’s Championship in October and the Southeast Asian Games in December. The tournament, dubbed the Jesse M. Robredo Memorial Cup, calls for teams to play each other once with the Top 2 playing for the crown.   Cedelf P. Tupas
