MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University guard Terrence Romeo may have lost on the hard court on Wednesday, but he wasn’t about to let that happen on Twitter.
A trade of tirades ensued when Romeo did not let comments from former Ateneo forward Nico Salva about his performance in the Tamaraws’ 58-59 setback to National University pass.
“Romeo is back to his old self. Why don’t you just give the ball to RR?” Salva tweeted (@nickobesalva) as the game was going down the wire where Romeo committed a crucial turnover.
Salva also went on to say, “Parks and Romeo struggled in this game but [P]arks opted to move the ball n help his team even w/o scoring. Shows his maturity over d other.”
Romeo, who’s always had a penchant for shooting at will, this time, wasn’t hitting from his usual tough angles. He finished the game with a dismal 3-of-16 shooting from the field.
But to top off a bad night, Romeo lost the ball in the winding seconds of the game after deciding to take matters into his own hands and waving off teammate RR Garcia, who rallied his team for the lead in the payoff period.
Just minutes after the loss, Romeo (@dRealTRomeo) retorted at Salva’s first tweet: “bat di ikaw ang maglaro.”
Salva, who won five titles with Ateneo during his stay in the league, fired back at Romeo by saying, “naka limang taon na ako bro e. Sorry. Tuloy mo lang yan. Ayos yan haha.”
But Romeo had the last say as Salva just went on to tweet about the ongoing PBA game after his reply.
“Hilig mo makisali eh noh? Paki alam nalang yung game mo. Hindi naman kita pinapakialam eh. Bro???” Romeo tweeted back.
The only time these two players can face each other on the court again, if they both decide to play, is in the PBA D-League, which is months from now.
