PH benchrest shooters cop 2 team silvers
THE PHILIPPINES captured two silver medals in the team competition of the recent 2013 Benchrest Shooting World Cup in Pilzen, Czech Republic.
Ranged against shooters from 20 other countries, the Filipinos placed second in the Rimfire Heavy Varmint 25 meters and Rimfire International Sporter 50 meters.
Marlon Palmario, Dondi Santos and Felino Neri competed in the international sporter event while Bernie Paras Gan, Louie Gonzalez and Randy Paronda vied in the heavy varmint.
Article continues after this advertisementSantos, Mar Lino and Felino Angeles Neri IV also received the World Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Federation presidential award for sportsmanship.
“This is a first and a feat in the most prestigious event in benchrest rimfire and air rifle,” said Santos.
The other members of the 19-man team were Antonio Olbes, Enchong Formoso, Chim Esteban, Ely Canivel, Ronald Hejastro, Mario Rotea, Francis Perez, Jimmy Maniwang, Toby Gan, Jun Cruz, Noni Alvero, Augusto Estrada, Maria Parsons and Bernadette Gan.
