Eric Kelly and Froilan Sarenas made quick work of their respective rivals to capture University Reality Combat Championship titles Saturday night in the URCC-Colt 45 XVIII “Relentless” at the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati.
Kelly, representing Yaw Yan Ardigma, subdued Nate Flores of Saipan with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their featherweight title clash.
Equally impressive was Sarenas, who bagged the middleweight crown in only his second URCC fight after winning via submission over Jerry Legaspi.
Sarenas, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu expert, finished off Legaspi with an arm triangle choke in the main event of the card co-presented by Colt 45 and Tribal Gear and sponsored by Alaxan FR and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
In other fights, Nicholas Mann needed only 34 seconds to beat Frank Navarro via a toehold footlock, while featherweight Arnel Arancina posted a TKO win over Roel Pacional through punches.
OTHER WINNERS: George Lusadan, Leo Occena, Alvin Ramirez, Pete Brooks, Sulpiano Laurio and Jessie Rafols.
