Cangolf North earns Asian Golf Monthly award

07:53 AM November 16, 2010

Canlubang North, the tree-lined, hazard-laden layout designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was selected as the best 18-hole golf course in the Philippines in 2010 during the recent Asian Golf Monthly awards in Bangkok. The citation was the first for the North course, a gem of a layout which puts premium on shotmaking while requiring length on some holes, especially on the 18th, one of the toughest finishing holes in local golf.

Both the 18th and ninth holes share a common green, the signature holes of the course, which was built in 1978. Canlubang, which plays host to several prestigious amateur and professional events such as the DHL Amateur championship and legs of the ICTSI circuit, also boasts of the adjacent South course. It is the first golf complex in the country to have two championship courses in one venue.
