The Lady Rising Suns, boasting a stacked line up, virtually sealed their entry to the quarterfinals after a hard-earned 26-24, 25-22, 25-14 victory over Meralco.
Kannika Thipachot had 24 points for Cagayan, which remained unscathed in four matches, while Angeli Tabaquero added 14.
The Lady Troopers, meanwhile, kept Philippine Navy on the losing end with a quick 25-14, 25-12, 25-13 victory in the second game.
Jovelyn Gonzaga and veteran Nene Bautista each unloaded 11 points for Philippine Army, which bagged its second victory of the tournament.
No one from the Lady Sailors’ side barged into the double-digit scoring column as Mikmik Laborte led with nine markers.
