MANILA, Philippines — Anna Dominique “Mikee” Bartolome will be able to swim for her dream school after all.
The 17-year-old Bartolome, who secured a Temporary Restraining Order against the UAAP’s two-year residency rule on Tuesday, has been included in the University of the Philippines’ swimming line-up for the UAAP season 76.
The league, in a statement made through secretary-treasurer Malou Isip, said after Thursday’s eligibility meeting that it has “no choice but again to respect” the court’s injunction or else the UAAP would be held in contempt.
Bartolome will try to give the five-peat seeking UP a boost in the swimming competitions, which opens on September 19 at Trace College Aquatic Center in Los Baños, Laguna.
The TRO, issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 226, is good for 20 days.
