Mikee Cojuangco eyes Olympics

ACCOMPLISHING her mission in the International Olympic Committee, Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski has now set her sights in the Olympics.

Cojuangco-Jaworski, an Asian Games champion in equestrian, said outgoing IOC president Jacques Rogge assured that she could still play in the Olympics even after being named a member of the most powerful sports body in the world.

“I can still aspire to be an athlete in the Olympics and I was very relieved to hear that,” said Cojuangco-Jaworski, who arrived yesterday from Buenos Aires, Argentina where the 125th IOC session was held.

“He (Rogge) told me that if I can qualify, I can play in the Olympics,” she added.

Cojuangco-Jaworski, 39, said her first official function as IOC member is to attend the opening of the IOC museum in Laussane along with the other 111 members.

“For now, I have to familiarize myself more with the Olympic movement,” said Cojuangco-Jaworski, a former actress.
