MANILA, Philippines — University of the East ended Adamson’s campaign in the UAAP season 76 men’s basketball tournament on a sour note with a 77-60 win Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Red Warriors, already out of contention with a 6-7 card, held the likewise also-ran Falcons scoreless for almost seven minutes in payoff period and padded on to their lead with a 13-2 blast.

“First encounter with Adamson [in the elimination round], binaon kami sa lupa eh [we were buried deep]. At least we were able to come back,” said head coach Boycie Zamar.

Charles Mammie was relentess in the paint and unleashed 24 points and collared 24 rebounds for UE, which still has a game left in the elimination round.

The Falcons ended their UAAP season 76 stint with a dismal 4-10 card, missing the post-season for the second straight year.

Roider Cabrera, Mike Agustin, and Rodney Brondial had six points each while Harry Petilos had two points and Gian Abrigo with one playing in their last game with Adamson.
