St. Clare eyes title slot

Defending champion St. Clare shoots for a second straight championship appearance when it battles Fatima at 10 a.m. today in the step-ladder semifinals of the Naascu men’s basketball tournament at Makati Coliseum.

The Saints enjoy a twice-to-beat luxury over the Phoenix, whom St. Clare already defeated twice in the eliminations.

But coach Jinno Manansala said they are not taking chances in the game and would go all-out and secure a final slot in the best-of-three championship series.

Centro Escolar is waiting in the final which starts on Monday.

The Saints will rely on a hard-working crew that includes Marte Gim Jayson Ibay and Jam Jamito.
