NCAA: San Beda blasts St. Benilde

MANILA, Philippines—San Beda held St. Benilde to two measly points in the opening period en route to a 65-46 route Thursday in the NCAA season 89 men’s basketball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.

The Red Lions took advantage of the hard-luck Blazers, built a 17-0 buffer in the first period and held on to the commanding lead their 11th victory and the solo lead.

Art Dela Cruz posted 14 points and seven rebounds for San Beda, while Ola Adeogun and Yvan Ludovice chipped in eight markers apiece.

All but two fielded players from the Red Lions scored at least a point.

The Blazers, meanwhile, reeled to their eight loss of the season as only Mark Romero and Paolo Taha carried bulk of the load with 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
