V-League: Cagayan grounds Air Force, remains unbeaten
MANILA, Philippines — The long layoff had little effect on top-seeded Cagayan Valley as it continued its winning ways after beating Air Force, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-22, in their quarterfinals match of the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Rising Suns, who returned to action after a two-week break, leaned on former University of Santo Tomas spikers Aiza Maizo and Angeli Tabaquero register their first win of the playoffs.
Maizo tallied 18 points, built on four blocks while Tabaquero backed her up with 13 markers.
