V-League: Daquis-led Army beats Meralco

MANILA, Philippines — Rachel Daquis continued her fiery form to lead Philippine Army over Meralco, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19, in the quarterfinal round of the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Daquis, who scored 15 points in another Lady Troopers’ straight-set win over Philippine National Police last Sunday, bested her effort with 19 points this time.

Chinese import Wang Coco led the Power Spikers with 14 points while Maica Morada chipped in 13.

Jovelyn Gonzaga, whose consistency has been key for Army, produced 11 points.
