NATIONAL University fought back from a double-digit deficit in the last two minutes of regulation before stunning Ateneo in overtime, 101-93, yesterday to move within a win of a perfect season in the UAAP juniors basketball championship at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Hubert Cani, Manuel Mosqueda, John Cauilan and Mark Dyke combined for the Bullpups to raze an 11-point deficit and forge the extension at 86-all, before outscoring the Blue Eaglets, 15-7 in overtime.

“The boys showed they just won’t give up and regrouped in the second half,” said NU coach Jeff Napa.
