Marian Jade Capadocia, the country’s top female tennis player, has turned down scholarship offers in the United States to pursue a pro career.

A winner of just about every local tournament including the PCA Open which she topped the past two years, Capadocia recently launched her Women’s Tennis Association debut in Europe.

The 18-year-old Capadocia made the main draw of a WTA event in Belgium and reached the quarterfinals of tournaments in Germany and the Netherlands.

She has already been approached by Argentine coach Mariano Pettigrosso to enroll in the prestigious Kim Clijsters Academy.

“I have decided to become a full-time professional player because I believe I have plenty of years to achieve my dream of playing in a Grand Slam event or more,” said Capadocia.
