MANILA, Philippines—Rookie hopeful Greg Slaughter dropped by Ginebra’s practice Friday, fueling speculations that the seven-foot center may just be headed to PBA’s crowd darling team.

The Gin Kings hold the first overall pick—a first since 1996—in the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft, with a surplus of talent, from big men to guards, to choose from.

“Dropping by Ginebra practice and I couldn’t be anymore excited to get started,” tweeted Slaughter (@GwillSlaughter).

Ginebra’s star guard Mark Caguioa (@officialMC47) also posted a photo with the 25-year-old Slaughter, who suited up for Ateneo in college and was part of the national team pool.

Other rookie applicants have also worked out with teams in the PBA, with their training camps for the 2013-2014 All-Filipino Cup underway.

The draft is scheduled on November 3 at the Robinson’s Place Ermita.
