Tigresses win Unigames hoops crown; NU, Ateneo-B meet in finals

MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas’ Tigresses copped the 18th Unigames’ basketball crown Sunday, while their men’s counterparts got the boot in the semifinals.

The Tigresses, third placers in the recently concluded UAAP season 76 hoops tournament, survived Adamson, 79-78, in a thrilling overtime match in Bacolod City.

UAAP men’s basketball runner up UST, meanwhile, yielded to National University, 63-68, in the Unigames men’s final four.

The Bulldogs face Ateneo-B, a roster headed by Von Pessumal, Chris Newsome and Nico Olrder, in the knockout finals tiff on Monday.

University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, meanwhile, bagged gold in the women’s table tennis competition while La Salle triumphed in the men’s division.
