MANILA, Philippines — Former University of Santo Tomas stars Jeric Teng and Jeric Fortuna are not ruling out the possibility of playing together in the PBA.

Teng and Fortuna entertained the idea of the two of them donning the same jerseys as both took part in the PBA pre-Draft Combine Monday at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.

“I’m happy [to be able to be in the same draft with Jeric Fortuna],” said the six-foot guard Teng, whose recent sterling UAAP Finals performance against De La Salle improved his draft stock.

“You’ll never know, Fort (Fortuna) and I will be teammates,” Teng added. “It’s really good to have someone I know and close with in the draft.”

The two guards could reunite in Barako Bull, which holds the fourth to sixth picks in the first round. Energy coach Bong Ramos as well as their team consultant Rajko Toroman are also impressed with both Teng and Fortuna.

Teng and Fortuna played together for four years with the Growling Tigers. Fortuna was UST’s skipper when the Tigers lost in the Finals to the Ateneo Blue Eagles in 2012 before Teng succeeded him as team captain the year later.

“It will be great to have him as my teammate again,” Fortuna said. “We know each other’s games. If I were to choose, I’d want us to be teammates again.”
