‘NC’ to look into Lion’s alleged gaffe

THE NCAA will look into allegations that San Beda cager Ryusei Koga saw action in another basketball league while in the middle of the season, which is a violation of college league’s rules.

Although no school has filed a complaint on the alleged infraction, a league official said they will ask San Beda’s representatives to explain their side on the issue.

“We will definitely ask San Beda about the issue,” said the NCAA official who requested anonymity for lack of authority to speak on the matter.

The league’s management committee was slated to meet last night at Filoil Flying V Arena, but the NCAA official said the case of Koga is not part of the agenda.

Koga did not suit up in San Beda’s last game of the elimination round against Arellano.

Under league rules, the infraction, if proven true, would have a significant impact on the Final Four picture with San Beda facing forfeiture of its wins from the time the violation was committed.

A three-game suspension will also be slapped on the player who suits up in another league while the season is ongoing.

The Lions notched three wins after Koga allegedly suited up in a different league.
