MANILA, Philippines — Fil-American boxer Ana Julaton and Mexican opponent Perla Hernandez both made weight on Friday (Manila time) ahead of their 10-round fight slated on Saturday in Yucatan, Mexico.

Julaton, who is coming off a unanimous decision setback to Celina Salazar last August, tipped the scales at 123.5 pounds while Hernandez weighed in half a pound heavier.

The California-based Julaton is fighting to get a shot at a title fight, and told Las Vegas Sun’s Robin Leach that “defeat is not an option.”

After the loss in August, Julaton went right back into training and even spent a week under the tutelage of Roger Mayweather in Las Vegas.

“Feeling good on this camp. Firing on another level. Bringing back that win from Mexico on Nov. 1st,” the two-time world champion told INQUIRER.net.

Julaton has a record of 12-4-1 while Hernandez totes a 10-5-3 slate, including a seven-fight winning streak, as they face off in the main event of the card to be held at Auditorio Morelos.
