Amit rallies past Taiwanese to barge into Women’s 10-ball quarters
MANILA, Philippines — Former world champion Rubilen Amit needed to come back from two racks down to edge Chinese Taipei’s Chieh Yu Chou, 8-6, in their Round of 24 knockout match of the Yalin’s Women’s World 10-Ball Championship Sunday at the Resorts World Manila.
Amit, the lone Filipino left in the field, rallied from a 3-5 deficit to secure a berth in the KO quarterfinals stage, which is set tonight.
Amit looks to get back on top of women’s pool after being the tournament’s inaugural champion in 2009.
