MANILA, Philippines — Cebuana Lhuillier pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back to hammer out an 88-60 decision over new team Derulo Accelero in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Tuesday at the Arena in San Juan.
Ralf Olivares unleashed 11 of his 13 points — going three-of-five from long range — in the pivotal second period, where the Gems turned a 22-24 deficit to a 41-31 lead at the half.
Former University of the East stars James Martinez and Paul Zamar added15 and 14 points, respectively, for Cebuana Lhuillier, which rebounded from its 67-70 setback at the hands of Café France last Thursday.
The Oliers, who have yet to win in three outings, drew 15 points from Raul Soyud.
