B. Pier get Najorda, Chua for Holstein

BEEFING up still, Globalport yesterday completed another trade and dealt away No. 7 Draft pick Isaac Holstein to San Mig Coffee for No. 10 choice Justin Chua and the veteran Leo Najorda.

The Batang Pier already strengthened their lineup with key selections from the PBA Rookie Draft last Sunday.

The 39th Season opens on Nov. 17 with three simultaneous games in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Globalport also nabbed former UAAP MVPs Terrence Romeo and Ryan Roose Garcia in the first round of the Draft, giving the Batang Pier one of the league’s most promising backcourt pairs.

Holstein, a 6-foot-9 Fil-American, will come to San Mig as the logical heir apparent to Rafi Reavis and Yancy De Ocampo.

Chua could see major minutes in his rookie season with the Batang Pier, who will now have the luxury of having Jay Washington slide to the power forward spot.

On Monday, the Batang Pier also unloaded Willie Miller and Hans Thiele to Barako Bull for the veteran Enrico Villanueva.
