Diaz, Viaje, Sarabia, Antipolo, tops national bike stunts finals

MANILA, Philippines – A successful Cobra-Urge Ride Rules Tour Grand Finals “Philippine Bike Stunts Festival” was held October 26 at the Rizal Park in Manila.

The top finalists wowed the crowd as they competed against each other in the MTB Box Jump, BMX Box Jump, BMX Street, MTB Street, and BMX Flatland categories.

Brian “Bry Dagger” Antipolo, 18, of Marikina City grabbed the spotlight in the BMX Street competition.

Antipolo qualified in the grand finals Pro/expert by winning the Beginner/Novice division 1st leg at the Riverbanks Mall in Marikina City. He qualified in the Grand Finals as a wildcard entry.

He defeated the veterans with his pro demo performance – unleashing his 360 Bar Spin, and Big Air Bar Spin on the Fun Box.

The judges were impressed by Antipolo’s performance and dubbed him as the future of BMX Street in the Philippines.

Darkhorse Migs Serbanda of Las Pinas City came out as first runner-up while veteran street rider from Bacoor, Cavite – Anthonie Bitancor – was second.

In the BMX Box Jump, Paul Diaz of Team Parugang, topped the Grand Championship this year.

Diaz who hails from Angeles, Pampanga, dominated the contest with his superman air and 360 tailswhip.

Jeff Constantino of Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and Erick Ibuyan of Pasig City were first and second runners-up respectively.

Renz Viaje, known as the “Pambansang Flatlander” dominated the BMX Flatland.

Stephan Sunido of Davao City was first runner-up while Allan Alfaro of Cabantuan City was second.

EJ Serabia won the MTB Box Jump with his patented Big Airs variation tricks.  Jon Castillo of Manila was first runner-up and Alben “Nono” Santos of Navotas City was second.

Christian Dave Quinlanlan dominated the MTB Street (Developmental Sport).
