Mindanao teams eye 2 PCCL slots

TOP VARSITY teams from Mindanao fight for two Sweet 16 berths in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) this weekend.

Champions squads from Cagayan de Oro, Pagadian, Surigao City, Lanao del Norte, Bukidnon, Marawi and Iligan clash in the North Mindanao games, while General Santos, Davao City, Zamboanga and Dipolog battle in the South Mindanao division at Almendras Gym in Davao City.

Action shifts to Luzon starting Monday when Vigan, Baguio, Benguet, Pangasinan, La Union and Zambales gun for a Sweet 16 slot in the North-Central Luzon regional games from Nov. 11 to 14 at University of Northern Philippines gym in Vigan City.

Seven squads also tangle for the South Luzon-Bicol berth from Nov. 14 to 16.

Visayan collegiate teams shoot for one more slot after Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) champion University of Visayas and runners-up Southwestern University and University of San Carlos earned outright berths. Jasmine W. Payo
