Que zooms to 3rd place tie

DELHI—Angelo Que fired his best round of 5-under par 67 Saturday and moved into a tie for third place after 54 holes of the $1.25 million Hero Indian Open at the Delhi Golf Club.

With earlier rounds of 69-68, Que totaled 204, five strokes behind Siddikur of Bangladesh, who stayed on top also with a 67 and one shot off the second-running SSP Chowrasia of India (66).

Siddikur shot a 66 on Friday to put himself in position to end a title jinx.

Que, a three-time Asian Tour winner and currently ranked 15th in the Asian Order of Merit, bogeyed the first hole before gunning down six birdies to tie Rashin Khan of India, who rallied with a 65.

Antonio Lascuña also improved to a 68 after a 71 and a 70 and advanced from 21st to solo 11th at 209.

Jay Bayron, the best Filipino in the first round with a 68, faltered with a 73 after a second-round 72 and joined a  big group at 213. Elmer Salvador tallied a 74 for 218.

Meanwhile, Juvic Pagunsan remained in contention for a top 10 finish in the Heiwa PGM Championship in Kasumigaura  by shooting a 1-under 70 for a 208 total, 10 shots off leader Wu Ashun of China. Asian Tour News
