MLB to donate $200k for Philippines typhoon relief
ORLANDO, Florida—Major League Baseball intends to donate $200,000 to Unicef and the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts in the Philippines following Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: “Haiyan”).
The announcement was made Thursday as baseball owners finished their quarterly meeting.

Also, the players’ association designated $250,000 in funding from the players trust to support recovery and rebuilding in the Philippines.
