A ONE-DAY camp will kick off the Shakey’s V-League All-Star Weekend powered by Smart today with the league stars conducting a two-session clinic for volleyball enthusiasts and aspirants at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
A maximum of 40 participants per session will be accommodated in the clinic, which will feature digging, setting, spiking and serving. The camp is open to girls aged nine to 17 years old.
Registration starts at 7 a.m. on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fee is P200 per session, inclusive of a camp shirt. Session times are 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. with a mini-tournament to be held after the clinics.
Tomorrow’s Shakey’s All Star will be spiced up by the participation of GMA talents, including Bettina Carlos and LJ Reyes and newsmen Lala Roque, Vonne Aquino, Raffy Tima and Dano Tingcungco.
Rachel Ann Daquis, Aiza Maizo, Suzanne Roces, Angeli Tabaquero, Mary Jean Balse, Michelle Carolino, Angelique Dionela, Rubie de Leon, Maureen Penetrante-Ouano and Tina Salak will compose the Shakey’s team handled by coach Nestor Pamilar.
Team Smart will be made up of Dindin Santiago, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Maru Banaticla, Jamenea Ferrer, Jennelyn Reyes, Gretchel Soltones, Fille Cainglet, Pau Soriano, Alyssa Valdez and Charo Soriano with Roger Gorayeb as coach.
Before the game, skills competitions for fans and V-League players will be held where fans and players alike will have a chance to shoot for big prizes in various game categories.
Tickets for today’s event are pegged at P50 (free seating) and will be available at the gates starting at 7 a.m.
Game tickets are priced P350 (ringside), P250 (lower box) and P100 (upper box) for the whole day affair and P300, P200 and P50, respectively, for the afternoon activities.
