Cebuano rookie shines as Talk N’ Text opens PH Cup with win over Meralco
MANILA, Philippines — Talk N’ Text opened its title defense in the PBA All-Filipino Cup with an 89-80 win over Meralco in Cebu Sunday even as debuting rookie Eliud Poligrates shone in his homecoming.
Jason Castro led the Texters with 20 points, but Poligrates, the flashy Cebuano guard who was plucked 27th overall in the 2013 draft, showed his worth and chipped in 15 points.
Veteran Kelly Williams also had a solid comeback game, adding 10 points and leading a strong fourth quarter start for Talk N’ Text, which game allowed them to gain separation.

The Bolts weren’t without firepower with reigning scoring champion Gary David unloading 26 points, but they just lacked the finishing kick.
Jared Dilingers scored 11 against his former team.
