St. Benilde makes quick work of Lyceum in NCAA women’s volley
MANILA, Philippines — St. Benilde made quick work of Lyceum, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19, in its opening game in the NCAA season 89 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Blazers wrapped the game up in just a little over an hour as they peppered the Lady Pirates with kills and service aces.
Last year’s fifth placer scored a whopping 16 aces compared to Lyceum’s three.
Article continues after this advertisementJeanette Panaga pumped in 18 for St. Benilde, four from aces and three from blocks while Therese Veronas chipped in 13, all but two from hits.
Only Jhemil Abadilla scored in double digits with 12 for the Lady Pirates, who couldn’t summon a solid offensive attack to threaten the Lady Blazers.
