800 golfers dispute Founders Cup

The 17TH Founders Cup Invitational, the member-guest tournament of the Orchard Golf and Country Club, tees off today with with 800 players battling for almost P5 million worth of prizes at stake.

A 2013 Mercedes-Benz C180 Classic is up for grabs for a hole in one on all par-3s of the Player course while a 2013 Mazda CX-5 is at stake on all par-3s of the Palmer course.

The 17th Founders which has Globe Telecom, Banco de Oro-CLG/VISA, Mizuno, Sta. Lucia Realty, Kulinarya Global Corp., CATS Motors/Mercedes Benz and Mazda as major sponsors caps the season’s member-guest tournaments with the most number of participants.

Orchard general manager Rene Garrovillo, meanwhile, announced that the Club will participate in the global response to the victims of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” by donating a substantial part of the tournament proceeds to the Philippine Red Cross.
