Lady Altas dominate Lady Bombers for 2nd win in NCAA volleyball

MANILA, Philippines — Reigning titlist University of Perpetual Help hammered out a dominating 25-10, 25-16, 25-13 win over Jose Rizal University Thursday in the NCAA season 89 women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Honey Royce Tubino pumped in 13 hits while Norie Diaz, Jamela Suyat and setter Shaira Cabriana combined for 32 points as the Lady Altas notched their second straight win.

Perpetual Help dominated at every turn and even got a huge boost from its precision service, getting 13 aces compared to JRU’s one.

Libero Vhima Condadad had 12 excellent digs for the Lady Altas, still seven more than what the Lady Bombers put on combined.

Margarita Tabunda, meanwhile, scored two blocks to finish with six points for the Lady Bombers, who stumbled to a second straight setback early in the tournament.
