CSB hands Perpetual Help first loss, goes 3-0 in women’s volley
MANILA, Philippines – College of St. Benilde remained unbeaten while also dealing defending champion Perpetual Help its first loss with a 25-21, 29-27, 22-25, 25-19 win in the NCAA Season 89 women’s volleyball Monday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Jannine Navarro led the Lady Blazers with 22 points, including a key point in the pivotal second set that broke a 27-deadlock before reigning MVP Norie Diaz’s attempt went wide as CSB grabbed a 2-0 set lead.
Therese Veronas added 17 points, two of which were the match’s final points, for CSB, which match it last season’s start at 3-0.

Meanwhile, Arellano scored an easy win over Jose Rizal University, 25-5, 25-18, 25-16, to win its second game in three stints.
Menchie Tubiera had 15 points and 10 digs for the Lady Chiefs as the Lady Bombers reeled to a 0-3 slate.
