San Sebastian, EAC turn back winless foes in women’s volleyball
MANILA, Philippines – San Sebastian College and Emilio Aguinaldo College handily beat separate foes in the NCAA Season 89 women’s volleyball tournament Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Stags made quick work of the Mapua Lady Cardinals, 25-15, 25-18, 25-11, to gain a share of the lead in the standings with idle College of St. Benilde Blazers at 3-0.
Power-hitter Gretchel Soltones and Czarina Berbano tallied 10 points apiece for San Sebastian, which had all of its players fielded in the game scoring at least a point.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Lady Generals also had little trouble as it blanked the Letran Lady Knights, 25-13, 25-15, 25-17.
Charlette Lorenzo registered 11 points, including three service aces while Charmille Belleza and Arian Angustia contributed eight points each for EAC, which joined Arellano and defending champion Perpetual Help in a three-way tie at the no. 4 spot with identical 2-1 records.
Both the Lady Cardinals and Lady Knights remained winless at 0-3.
