AMA Computer teams boost Naascu drive
MANILA—AMA Computer College boosted its stock in both junior and senior basketball after scoring victories in these divisions Wednesday in the National Athletics Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities at the UM Gym in Manila.
The Titans, champions in 2006, routed the City University of Pasay Eagles, 115-80, in the morning games before the Baby Titans drubbed the Informatics Baby Icons, 93-72, in the afternoon. The Titans and the Baby Titans improved to similar 3-2 records.
AMA coach Jhune Golosinda got a balanced offense from his charges, five of whom scored in double figures.
Article continues after this advertisementMac Avellana paced the Titans with a game-high 18 points, while Marvin Cabico and Kevin Sumay chipped in 16 points each. Raymark Matias and Kenneth Ballesteros contributed 12 and 10 markers, respectively.
The Eagles found no antidote to the deluge of scoring, except for Brian Garcia who single-handedly tried to fight back with 23 points.
Later, Jefferson Arceo and Ermido Discipulo accounted for 25 points and 17 points, respectively, to carry the Baby Titans over the Baby Icons. Bernard Repato and Laer Nemenzo paced Informatics with 25 points and 15 points, respectively.

The Hawklets improved to 5-0, while the Baby Saints relied on Mark Cabanilla’s fastbreak lay-up in the last 10 seconds to post their first victory.
