MANILA, Philippines—National University drew huge support from its bench and disposed of University of the East, 73-63, Thursday to continue its journey in the Philippine Collegiate Champions’ League Sweet 16.

Bobby Ray Parks was just two dimes shy of a triple double, finishing with 18 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, but had help from the second and third units.

Guard Gelo Alolino, meanwhile, chipped in 15 points, while Tristan Perez had 12 points for the Bulldogs, whose bench contributed 30 points against the Warriors’ 14.

NU faces San Sebastian or Far Eastern University on Monday in the hopes of inching closer it to the final four and joining La Salle, San Beda and Southwestern University.

The Warriors bowed out of the tournament despite valiant effort from guard Roi Sumang, who had 20 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Charles Mamie also had 13 points and 20 rebounds for UE.
