UP, La Salle booters in vital match

University of the Philippines and La Salle try to bounce back from their stunning losses to surprise package University of the East today in UAAP Season 76 men’s football at FEU-Diliman pitch.

The Fighting Maroons and the Green Archers try to avoid falling in last place in their televised duel at 3 p.m.

In other matches, the Red Warriors seek to gain the top spot against National University at 1 p.m., right after defending champion Ateneo and University of Santo Tomas collide at 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, last Wednesday’s women’s duel between the Lady Eagles and titleholder Far Eastern University was called off after the match was halted in the 56th minute by heavy rains. The score was 1-1 when action was stopped.

Tournament director Rely San Agustin said the technical committee will decide on the make up date in the next few days, where the match will begin from opening kickoff.

This early, UE has overachieved in the young season, collecting six points on successive wins against last season’s runner-up UP and De La Salle to join FEU for the lead.
