PLDT eyes 4th Liga win over RC Cola today

PLDT MyDSL guns for a fourth straight victory against winless RC Cola while TMS Army seeks solo second spot when it takes on Cignal today in the Philippine Super Liga Volleyball Grand Prix at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Speed Boosters, boasting two brilliant American reinforcements in Kaylee Manns and Savannah Noyes, will come into the 2 p.m. match, the heavy favorites against the 0-3 Raiders, who are left with a ragtag roster as most of their players from the Philippine Air Force are competing in  the Armed Forces of the Philippines Olympics.

The Lady Troopers (3-1)  hope to pick up their fourth win in five games against the HD Spikers at 4 p.m.

TMS-Philippine Army is coming off a win over cellar-dweller Petron, while Cignal (2-2) is smarting from a loss to Cagayan (3-1) last Wednesday.

“So far so good, but we still have a long way to go and there are teams out there who want to beat us,” said PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb of his wards.

The Speed Boosters flexed their muscles last Wednesday by handily defeating Petron, 25-16, 25-21, 14-25, 25-17.

Petron has yet to win in four games.
